Prisoner Aman Murdered in Saket Court Lockup; Case Filed Against Two Other Inmates

New Delhi: Two prisoners, Jitendra and Jaydev, have been accused of murdering fellow inmate Aman inside the Saket Court lockup. Delhi Police revealed that there was an old enmity between Jitendra and Aman stemming from a fight outside jail in 2024.

Additional DCP of South Delhi, Sumit Kumar Jha, stated that around 10 AM, they received information from the Saket Court lockup that Aman had suffered a serious head injury. Initial investigations uncovered a longstanding rivalry between Aman and Jitendra, and also a verbal altercation between Aman and Jaydev earlier that morning.

Aman was immediately admitted to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police confirmed that all three were undertrial prisoners.

Delhi Police have launched a formal investigation into the incident and have registered a murder case against Jitendra and Jaydev, with further legal proceedings underway.
