Rahul Gandhi Targets Nitish Kumar: “Bihar Was Once a Land of Knowledge, Not the Crime Capital”

Rajgir (Bihar): Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address at the SC-ST convention held in Rajgir, Nalanda district. Invoking Bihar’s glorious intellectual past, Gandhi criticized the current state of affairs, remarking that the land once known for knowledge and enlightenment is now labeled a “crime capital.”

Questioning Bihar’s Historical Identity

Rahul Gandhi began his speech by reminding the audience of Bihar’s prestigious heritage: “Bihar was once home to world-renowned universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila. Countries like China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam have educational roots linked to Bihar. But today, this land is known for crime, unemployment, and migration.”

He took a direct swipe at Nitish Kumar, saying the land that once symbolized Buddha and wisdom has been reduced to a state of chaos and lawlessness.

Reiterates Demand for Caste Census

Reaffirming his commitment to caste-based census, Rahul Gandhi said: “The search for truth should not only be in philosophy but in society as well. We demand caste census across the country because we deserve rights and respect.” He further alleged that the central government only pretends to support the idea but is actually afraid of the truth that such a census would reveal, especially in the context of social justice.

Accuses PM Modi of Weakness on International Stage

Rahul Gandhi also targeted Prime Minister Modi’s foreign policy, particularly in the context of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

“Trump has claimed 11 times that he made Modi surrender and stopped a war between India and Pakistan. But Modi has never once refuted this. When America shows its eyes, our Prime Minister stays silent. Is this what a self-reliant India looks like?”

Blames Nitish for Compromising Bihar’s Dignity

Gandhi didn’t spare Nitish Kumar either. He accused him of aligning with those responsible for Bihar’s decline:

“By joining hands with people who turned Bihar into a hub of murder, kidnapping, and loot, Nitish Kumar has compromised the dignity of the state and lost his moral standing.”

Rahul Gandhi’s speech was not only a passionate defense of social justice and employment but also a strategic attempt to question the leadership and intentions of both Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi ahead of the upcoming general elections.

His tone and choice of issues — caste census, crime, education, and international diplomacy — signal a broader Congress campaign strategy to directly connect with marginalized communities and reframe the national political narrative around equality and accountability.
