Rajasthan Makes a Strong Debut at ITB Berlin 2026

Jaipur/Berlin : Rajasthan marked an impressive beginning at ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel trade fair, which commenced on Tuesday in Germany’s capital, Berlin.

The Rajasthan Tourism pavilion was formally inaugurated by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and India’s Ambassador to Germany Ajit Vinayak Gupte, who jointly cut the ceremonial ribbon.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rajasthan Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyar, Additional Director Pawan Kumar Jain, and Joint Director Dr. Puneeta Singh. The officials warmly welcomed international delegates, tour operators, and visitors. The Rajasthan pavilion emerged as a major attraction, drawing attention for its cultural grandeur, architectural aesthetics, and innovative presentation.

On the opening day, Commissioner Rukmani Riyar engaged in a special interaction with European and German tourism stakeholders. She highlighted the remarkable architectural similarities between Rajasthan’s historic forts and Germany’s palaces, emphasizing shared traditions of heritage conservation and strategic design.

She noted that while Rajasthan in India and Germany in Europe may appear geographically distinct — with Rajasthan’s vast deserts contrasting Germany’s lush forests and river valleys — their historical fortifications and royal palaces reveal striking architectural parallels. According to her, the participation of Rajasthan Tourism at ITB Berlin has infused new momentum into the state’s presence in the German and broader European tourism markets.

In the coming days of the event, Rajasthan will continue to showcase its rich heritage, renowned hospitality traditions, and sustainable tourism vision through a series of business meetings, cultural performances, and interactive sessions.

It is noteworthy that ITB Berlin, first organized in 1966, is regarded as the premier global platform for the tourism industry. The 2026 edition marks its 60th anniversary, celebrating six decades of global tourism excellence. Known for its well-structured layout, the fair features geographic segmentation of destinations and key sectors such as adventure tourism, business travel, medical tourism, and travel technology.
