New Delhi: Rekha Gupta, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Delhi from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will take the oath of office today along with six other ministers. BJP MLAs Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh will also be sworn in as ministers. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled to take place at Ramlila Maidan this afternoon.
Rekha Gupta was unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party last night in the presence of central observers at the Delhi BJP office. Following this, she met with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and formally staked her claim to form the government. After taking the oath, she will officially assume charge as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
Speaking about her appointment, Rekha Gupta said, “This is nothing short of a miracle. A new chapter has begun for women. If Rekha can become the Chief Minister, then every woman has opportunities ahead. Our priority will be to fulfill the promises we made to the people of Delhi. Those involved in corruption will be held accountable for every single rupee.”
