Mumbai: Renowned Bollywood singer Udit Narayan Jha has released a Maithili-language video song centered on the festival of Chhath Puja in Mumbai. Titled “Choumukh Diyari”, the video song has been presented by MJRK Event Private Limited, with support from Sulabh International in its production.
At the launch event, Nitya Pathak, Executive Coordinator of Sulabh International, expressed her appreciation and congratulated the producer and singer Udit Narayan for creating this remarkable Chhath-themed video song.
Bollywood’s celebrated singer Udit Narayan Jha performed the song in his mother tongue, Maithili, and also appeared on-screen in the video.
Expressing his joy at releasing a Chhath album in Maithili, Udit Narayan proudly shared his love and affection for Mithila and the Maithili language with the audience. He emphasized that he is always committed to serving Mithila and Maa Maithili.
The Maithili Chhath video song was presented by Manorama Jha from Bollywood and directed by Santosh Jha, with lyrics written and sung by Deepika Jha.
Speaking at the event, Nitya Pathak said, “On this auspicious occasion, as we listen to the glory of Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya through this wonderful song, I feel deeply honored to be present here. Udit Narayan’s song will surely fill every heart with devotion and joy for Chhath Puja.”
She also highlighted that Chhath Puja is primarily conducted by women, representing an ancient and divine form of women’s empowerment. Sulabh International’s work, she said, is a living example of harnessing women’s strength and leadership.
Nitya Pathak further recalled that Sulabh International was founded by her late father-in-law, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, who not only revolutionized sanitation technology but also dedicated his life to the upliftment of marginalized communities, including manual scavengers.
She concluded by saying, “As we celebrate Chhathi Maiya, a symbol of strength and compassion, this song represents not just a hymn but the voice of every woman who, with courage and faith, brings light and hope to her family and community.”
The premiere of this Maithili music video in Mumbai was attended by several Bollywood and Mithila region artists, journalists, and music enthusiasts, making it a grand cultural celebration.
