Review Meeting Held in Tawang Ahead of DCs Conference 2026

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) : A review-cum-coordination meeting involving all departments, the Indian Army, paramilitary forces, and Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members was convened this afternoon at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Tawang in preparation for the upcoming DCs Conference.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Tawang, Namgyal Angmo, IAS. Key dignitaries present included Zilla Parishad Chairperson Leki Gombu, Zilla Parishad Members Tenzin Monpa and Sonam Norzin, Superintendent of Police Tawang Tasi Darang, ADC Jang Hakraso Kri, representatives from the Indian Army, Bazaar Secretaries, and Heads of Offices from various departments.

The session began with a welcome address by Assistant Commissioner-cum-DPO Sangey Wangmu Mosobi.

In her address, the Deputy Commissioner informed that preparations are in full swing for the mega DCs Conference scheduled to be held from April 8 to April 12, 2026, in Tawang. She stressed the need for coordinated efforts and active cooperation from all departments and stakeholders to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

A comprehensive review of the progress was carried out, during which the Deputy Commissioner sought updates from concerned officials regarding their assigned responsibilities. She directed all officers to complete their tasks well in advance to avoid last-minute issues.

Emphasizing environmental responsibility, she called for minimizing the use of plastic during the event and across the district. She also instructed that construction materials should not be left unattended in public areas to ensure smooth traffic movement in Tawang.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the successful organization of the upcoming conference.
