S. L. Raheja Hospital Creates History in Facial & Jaw Care, Mumbai’s First Centre of Excellence for Craniofacial & TMJ Surgery Launched

Mumbai : S. L. Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate has marked a significant milestone in advanced healthcare with the launch of Mumbai’s first Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Craniofacial & Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Surgery. The centre is designed to offer comprehensive, specialised care for patients suffering from structural and functional facial and jaw disorders, all under one roof.
The launch was graced by renowned actor-director Shri Mahesh Manjrekar, who highlighted the urgent need to create awareness about facial and jaw health and the importance of timely access to specialised treatment.
The CoE will address a wide range of complex conditions including jaw pain and stiffness, jaw locking or clicking, facial asymmetry, craniofacial deformities, cleft lip and palate, facial trauma, jaw cysts and tumours, and facial reconstruction. The centre emphasises minimally invasive, precision-based techniques aimed at restoring jaw function, reducing pain and enabling faster recovery.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Tofiq Bohra, Head – Craniofacial & TMJ Surgery, said, “This Centre of Excellence is built on the pillars of precision, function and aesthetics. Our aim is not just treatment, but long-term functional recovery and restoration of confidence for patients.”
