Shyam Lal College organizes Two-Day National Summit- SRINEP 2025

New Delhi: Shyam Lal College (SLC), University of Delhi in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Research and Development Centre (RDC) and Institution Innovation Council (IIC) with DRDO, IUAC, IHC, CIC(DU), DU Research Council, NIELIT & SEBI as knowledge partners organized a Two-Day National Summit- SRINEP 2025 (Student Research and Innovation under NEP) on on 31st October and 1st November 2025.
Accredited with A++ and a NIRF 43rd rank under the able leadership of Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, the college has become a cornerstone of academic excellence and community connect.
As the New Education Policy 2020 puts strong emphasis on holistic, multidisciplinary and skill-based education, the college has been a pioneer in smooth facilitation of the same.
SRINEP 2025 conceptualized by SLC is one of its kind initiative that brings together innovators, researchers, industry professionals, and students to discuss the growing importance of student led research & innovation and Start Up journey towards achievement of Viksit Bharat.
The summit aims to strengthen the link between academic research and real-world applications, encouraging students to think beyond textbooks and create solutions that contribute to a sustainable and self-reliant India.
Professor Avinash Chandra Pandey, Director of IUAC, New Delhi was the Chief Guest and Dr. Chandrashekhar Buddha, CEO of Anuvadini AI and Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE (MoE, Govt. of India) was the Keynote Speaker during the Inaugural Session of the event.
Prof. Pandey delivered an insightful address on Sustainable Development and Self-Reliance in Modern India and emphasized that technological dependence on foreign nations, especially for high-end tools like ultraviolet lithography machines used in semiconductor production, must be reduced. He urged young researchers to focus on practical, application-oriented research, combining theoretical understanding with hands-on experimentation.
Dr. Buddha too inspired the audience with his talk on Turning Skill into Skill Capital. He emphasized that while India has immense talent and innovation potential, there is still a need to channel this creativity into impactful outcomes.
He highlighted that under NEP 2020, education must go hand in hand with skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship. His words motivated students to become creators rather than consumers of technology and knowledge.
Prof. K.G. Suresh, Director, India Habitat Centre, Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session on 1st November 2025 in his valedictory address highlighted that SLC has always been a pioneer in Research & Innovation and many Start Ups have come from SLC , the same is visible in accreditation and higher rankings of the college by various Govt. agencies from time and again.
The key feature of the event was the segment Idea, Incubation and Presentation, where innovators and founders showcased their innovative initiations, and engaged in interactive discussions with experts and peers. Applauding and acknowledging the spirit of inquiry and innovation of the young minds, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, Principal-SLC highlighted the importance of organizing such events. The event was jointly conceptualized by IQAC led by Prof. Kusha Tiwari, Dr. Niti Agrawal, Research and Development Cell and Dr. Saubhagyalaxmi Singh, IIC.
The event successfully brought together academia, industry, and young innovators on a single platform. It not only showcased brilliant ideas but also inspired students to think independently, work sustainably, and contribute to the vision of a self-reliant India. SRINEP 2025 truly embodied the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020—encouraging skill-based learning, research excellence, and entrepreneurial growth.
