Shyam Lal College wins 81st All India Bundelkhand Hockey Title

 

New Delhi:  Shyam Lal College of Delhi University won the title of 81st All India Bundelkhand Hockey Tournament held at Charkhari, Mahoba by defeating SAI Centre, Lucknow 4-2 in a closely fought final match which went till tiebreaker.

As the winner, the team of Shyam Lal College also got a prize of Rs 50 thousand. Shyam Lal College team has won this fifth title this year. Principal of College Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar congratulated the team and wished them all the best for the future.

At the scheduled time of the final match, both the teams were tied at 1-1. The first goal was scored by Mohammad Faiz of Lucknow team. After this, in the second half, Sagar Yadav of Shyam Lal College scored a goal on the penalty corner and made score 1-1.

In the tiebreaker penalty shootout, Shyam Lal College’s goalkeeper Mohammad Kamil made brilliant saves and played a big role in helping his team win 4-2.

Mohammad Kamil of Shyam Lal College was declared the best goalkeeper of the tournament and Rahul was declared the best defender.

 

Five titles of Shyam Lal College team in the year 2025:

1.Won the 11th Padmashree Shyam Lal Memorial Hockey Tournament.

2. Won the title of BITS Pilani Hockey Tournament in Pilani, Rajasthan.

3. Won the title of 43rd Shriyut Baba Bhagat Smriti All India Hockey Tournament held in Shahjahanpur, Rajasthan.

4.Won Delhi University Inter College Hockey title.

5. Won the title of 81st Bundelkhand Hockey Tournament.
