Statue of Sushil Kumar Modi Unveiled in Patna on His Birth Anniversary

Patna: On the birth anniversary of Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister and senior leader, the late Sushil Kumar Modi, a life-size statue was unveiled today in the state capital. The ceremony was held at Sushil Modi Park in Rajendra Nagar, where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary jointly unveiled the statue and paid floral tributes to the veteran leader.
The occasion witnessed an outpouring of respect and emotion as people remembered Sushil Kumar Modi’s principled political life and his significant contribution to the development of Bihar. The atmosphere at the event was marked by solemnity and reverence.
The dignified ceremony was attended by Bihar government minister Mangal Pandey, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Prem Kumar, Chairman of the Legislative Council Awadhesh Narayan Singh, and former Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, among others. In their addresses, the leaders recalled Sushil Kumar Modi’s inspirational personality, integrity in public life, and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the state.
Speakers described Sushil Kumar Modi as a symbol of strong, transparent, and people-centric leadership in Bihar politics. They said his vision, struggles, and work ethic would continue to guide future generations. At the conclusion of the programme, those present resolved to follow the ideals and principles he stood for.
The statue unveiling ceremony was attended by several senior BJP leaders, state ministers, party workers, and supporters in large numbers. Throughout the event, Sushil Modi’s political journey and public service were fondly remembered.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made an important announcement, stating that Sushil Modi’s birth anniversary and death anniversary will be observed every year at the state level. He said Sushil Modi was a symbol of honesty, simplicity, and principled politics, and his contributions would remain a lasting source of inspiration.
This was the first time Sushil Modi’s birth anniversary was commemorated after his passing, along with the unveiling of his statue. The Chief Minister further announced that every year, official state programmes would be organised at Sushil Modi Park on both his birth and death anniversaries.
Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, who was present at the event, paid tribute to Sushil Modi, calling him an exemplary leader who made invaluable contributions to both the party and the development of Bihar. He thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for unveiling the statue and for announcing state-level observances, describing them as a fitting tribute to the late leader.
The programme concluded on an emotional note, as leaders and supporters from across sections of society remembered Sushil Kumar Modi as a dedicated public servant and an enduring voice of principled politics in Bihar.
