Stäubli Expands Bengaluru Manufacturing Facility with $10 Million Investment to Strengthen India’s Solar PV Connector Ecosystem

New Delhi :  Global industrial and mechatronic solutions provider Stäubli has announced a significant expansion of its manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, representing a strategic investment of USD 10 million. The move reinforces Stäubli’s position in India’s rapidly growing solar photovoltaic (PV) sector and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to the country’s industrial growth and the Make in India initiative.

The expanded facility will house advanced automated assembly lines and enhanced quality assurance systems dedicated to the production of MC4-Evo1 and MC4-Evo2 connectors. These connectors are critical components that link solar modules to inverters and balance-of-system equipment. The initiative will enable Stäubli to meet the rising domestic demand for high-quality, locally manufactured PV connectors while also supporting global supply requirements.

“India is a key pillar in Stäubli’s global growth and manufacturing strategy,” said Gerald Vogt, CEO of Stäubli Group. “This investment strengthens our global supply capabilities and enables us to support customers worldwide with reliable, high-performance PV connector solutions built to the highest quality and sustainability standards.”

India’s solar sector is undergoing rapid expansion at scale, increasing the need for dependable, locally produced components. Stäubli’s enhanced Bengaluru facility is designed to address this demand by offering higher production capacity, shorter lead times, and improved supply chain resilience for OEMs, EPC companies, and asset owners.

“This expansion reflects our long-term commitment to India’s renewable energy journey,” said Gurupad Bhatt, Managing Director, Stäubli Tech Systems India. “By strengthening local manufacturing, engineering, and skill development, we are supporting the solar ecosystem with world-class solutions while contributing to job creation and industrial development.”

The facility integrates state-of-the-art automation and energy-efficient manufacturing processes and operates as a zero-discharge unit in line with stringent environmental standards. The increased capacity will also accelerate local application engineering and product development, enabling market-specific innovation while maintaining global benchmarks.

Stäubli currently serves customers across key regions in India—including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chennai, and Karnataka—demonstrating its strong national footprint in the renewable energy ecosystem.

The Bengaluru facility will play a crucial role in Stäubli’s global operations as the adoption of renewable energy accelerates worldwide, supporting both established and emerging markets. The expansion also includes a local vendor development initiative aimed at strengthening backward integration and bolstering India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
