Swiggy’s ‘Food on Train’ Becomes Students’ Favourite Travel Companion
New Delhi: Swiggy’s Food on Train service has emerged as a top choice among students travelling across India during the summer holidays. In May 2025, every third order was placed by a student. From biryanis and Italian meals to healthy thalis and large group orders, students are making their train journeys tastier and more memorable. One standout order came from Bhopal Junction, where a student spent ₹6,070 for 30 thalis to feed an entire group aboard the Gondwana Superfast Express. Nagpur station has become the most preferred stop, serving as a key hub for students travelling between major cities.
Engineering students, especially from IIT Kharagpur, BHU, and Vellore Institute of Technology, accounted for nearly 70% of all student orders. The Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option made it easier for many to enjoy their favourite meals. Swiggy, in partnership with IRCTC, now delivers at over 100 stations—bringing convenience and taste directly to passengers’ seats.
