Swiggy’s Student Rewards Program Crosses 3 Lakh Enrollments, Signup Now Easier with Physical College ID

New Delhi : Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, has announced a major milestone as its Students Rewards Program crossed 3 lakh student enrollments across 3,500 college campuses within just three months of launch. In a bid to make the program more inclusive, Swiggy has now introduced an easier signup option—students can now join using their physical college ID card, even if they don’t have a college email ID. Swiggy’s VP Deepak Maloo stated, “We’re committed to delivering greater value to students across India and making our platform more accessible and rewarding for them.”

To sign up, students simply search “Identity card” on the Swiggy app, upload a photo of their valid college ID, and unlock exclusive offers. Benefits include Swiggy One Lite for just ₹1 for 3 months, up to 67% off on food orders, ₹225 off on select orders, ₹50 off on Instamart, and an extra ₹40 off via BHIM payments. Dining out is more affordable too, with an extra 20% off on restaurant bills. Interestingly, over one-third of enrollments came from emerging towns like Manipal, Patiala, Dehradun, and Mangaluru—proving the program’s growing popularity beyond metros.

Swiggy also unveiled its first-ever College Rankings 2025, revealing unique food trends:

  • VIT Vellore, AIMS Delhi, IIT Madras led in snack orders

  • ISB Hyderabad, PGIMER Delhi, DY Patil Pune topped in protein-rich meals

  • KIIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Bombay, IIT BHU ordered the most burgers

  • NIT Warangal, Osmania University, BITS Goa were biryani hotspots

  • IIT Bhilai, BITS Hyderabad placed the highest item count in single orders

  • Thapar Institute, IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Kharagpur redeemed the most coupons
