Tata Steel Kolkata Vijay Diwas Cup: A Tribute to the Valor of the Armed Forces

Kolkata: To honor the unparalleled sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 war, the Eastern Command of the Indian Army will organize the “Tata Steel Kolkata 25K Marathon – Vijay Diwas Cup” on December 15, 2024. This unique event is being held as part of the prestigious Tata Steel Kolkata Marathon.

The special marathon will see the participation of 10 teams from the Indian Army, along with 5 teams each from the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force. Each team will comprise three runners who will cover a distance of 25 kilometers. Adding grandeur to the Vijay Diwas 2024 celebrations, this event will provide a platform for the armed forces to showcase their strength, courage, and endurance alongside professional marathon runners.

The primary goal of the “Tata Steel Kolkata 25K – Vijay Diwas Cup” is to enhance recognition and appreciation for the Vijay Diwas celebrations. The event stands as a symbol of the valor, dedication, and camaraderie of the armed forces, aiming to inspire the nation.

The Army has called upon citizens to join in this inspiring event to celebrate the glorious victory of 1971 and honor the brave soldiers who contributed to it.
