Tawang Conducts Coordination Meetings on Holistic Development, Digital Infrastructure and Upcoming National Campaigns

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) : Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Tawang, Namgyal Angmo, IAS, a series of coordination meetings were convened to address key developmental priorities in the district, including digital infrastructure enhancement, township beautification, cultural promotion, and preparations for upcoming national events.
A significant review-cum-coordination meeting on telecom infrastructure was held with representatives from major telecom service providers including BSNL, Reliance Jio, and Airtel, along with officials from the Indian Army . The discussion focused on expediting the installation of new telecom

towers, improving network connectivity—especially in remote areas—and relocating existing communication cables to safer and more aesthetic locations as part of the township beautification initiative. Present during the meeting were Executive Engineer (Electrical) Sang Phuntso, DITO Tawang Tenzin Phuntsok, and other officials from the Electrical Department.
In preparation for International Yoga Day 2025 and the Dharti Abha Jan Bhagidari Abhiyaan, a separate meeting was held at the DC Office Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by representatives from Indian Army, ITBP, SSB, various HoOs, MMT Tawang, and local Bazar Welfare Committees. Discussions centered around coordinated planning to ensure widespread public participation and successful observance of the initiatives.
Later in the evening, a dedicated coordination meeting focusing on the holistic development

of tourism, art and culture, textiles, and handicrafts was also chaired by the Deputy Commissioner. The meeting saw participation from key district officials including Addl. DC Lungla Tashi Dhondup, Assistant Commissioners Tsering Chedon CO Jemeithang Deewan Mara, CO Jang Khoda Oniya, Executive Engineer PWD Tadar Nyakpu, District Tourism Officer Tsering Deki, ADTH Dorjee Pema, and DACO Tawang Sonam Tsering. The discussions emphasized the promotion of local artisans, preservation of Tawang’s rich cultural heritage, revenue generation from tourism infrastructures and sustainable tourism development through effective inter-departmental collaboration.
