Terrorist Ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir Dismantled Due to Modi Government’s Sustained Efforts: Amit Shah

New Delhi: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on October 8 chaired a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi. The meeting was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officials.

During the meeting, the Home Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India is firmly committed to establishing lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and to completely eliminating terrorism from the region. Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, Shah stated that due to the Modi government’s continuous, coordinated and decisive efforts, the terrorist ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir has been dismantled.

Amit Shah lauded the efforts of security agencies in strengthening the security apparatus in the Union Territory. He emphasized that counter-terror operations must continue in mission mode, with a focused approach on dismantling terrorist infrastructure and choking terror funding networks.

The Union Home Minister directed all security agencies to maintain the highest level of vigilance and to work in close coordination to preserve the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370. He urged them to accelerate efforts towards achieving the goal of a “terror-free Jammu and Kashmir.”

Shah assured that the central government would provide all necessary resources and support to security forces and agencies to ensure sustained success in counter-terrorism operations. The meeting also reviewed the prevailing security challenges in the region, future strategies, and the progress of ongoing anti-terror initiatives.
