Tragic Accident in Jamui: Tractor Returning from Saraswati Idol Immersion Overturns in 15-Foot Ditch, Three Dead

Patna (Bihar): A tragic accident occurred in Bihar’s Jamui district late last night when a tractor returning from a Saraswati idol immersion overturned near Sugia Tand village in Malaypur police station area. The accident claimed three lives, while four others were injured.

According to the mother of injured Sakaldeep Yadav, seven young men were trapped under the tractor’s engine and trolley for nearly 30 minutes after it overturned. Upon receiving information, the Malaypur police and local residents rushed to the scene and managed to rescue the trapped individuals. However, three of them had already succumbed to their injuries, while four others were critically injured. The injured were immediately taken to Sadar Hospital on bikes and police vehicles. Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar, who was treating the injured, referred three of them to PMCH Patna due to their critical condition.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as:

Bablu Kumar (27), son of Chhedi Paswan from Bhajour
Litto Yadav, son of Kamu Yadav
Prakash Kumar Tanti, son of Sunil Tanti

The injured include:

Sagar Tanti
Ajit Tanti
Suraj Kumar Paswan
Sakaldeep Yadav, a resident of Narsauta

Malaypur Station House Officer (SHO) Vikas Kumar Singh confirmed the accident, stating that the tractor overturned while returning from the idol immersion, leading to three fatalities and four injuries. The injured were taken to the hospital, and three of them have been referred to Patna for advanced treatment. Meanwhile, the tractor has been seized, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
