Uma Bharti’s Emotional Reaction on the Acquittal of All Accused Including Sadhvi Pragya in Malegaon Blast Case; Slams Congress Leaders

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Following the acquittal of all accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case by the NIA court, senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti gave an emotional response. She said, “I am so happy that I don’t even have words to express my feelings.”

Uma Bharti revealed that when Sadhvi Pragya was lodged in Nashik jail, she learned through a police officer that Sadhvi had been brutally tortured in custody. “I went to meet her when no other leader dared to go. I broke down in tears when I saw her… The physical and mental torture she went through was unbearable for any woman,” Bharti recalled.

Launching a sharp attack on Congress and opposition leaders, she said, “I want to ask — what action should be taken against P. Chidambaram, Digvijaya Singh, Rahul Gandhi, the Leftists, Socialists, and all those Congress leaders who coined and propagated the term ‘Saffron Terror’?”

Emphasizing further, Uma Bharti demanded extraordinary and strict action against such leaders who, for political gain, attempted to tarnish the image of innocent people. She described the verdict as a victory of justice, stating that it marks the triumph of truth and the end of the false stigma attached to saffron.
