“UP’s Successful Journey Will Continue – Tirelessly, Unshaken, Uninterrupted: CM Yogi”
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured the people of the state that the government is firmly and successfully progressing in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision over the past eight years. “Without fatigue, without pause, and without faltering — UP’s successful journey will continue uninterrupted,” he affirmed.
Speaking at a private TV channel’s program, the Chief Minister highlighted that Uttar Pradesh now boasts the largest expressway network in India and leads in metro operations among states.
He noted, “Uttar Pradesh, which ranked as the 7th largest state economy in 2017, is now the 2nd largest in India. With the steps we’ve taken towards building a $1 trillion economy, we are confident that by 2029, UP will achieve this target and emerge as the leading economy in the country.”
UP Faced an Identity Crisis Before 2014
CM Yogi recalled that before 2014, despite its immense potential, Uttar Pradesh was grappling with an identity crisis. “Youth were desperate for recognition, farmers driven to suicide, labourers faced starvation, and the safety of daughters and traders was compromised. Festivals were celebrated under fear. The state, once seen as full of potential, was labelled ‘sick’ and backward,” he said.
He accused previous governments of deliberately obstructing development, saying they had no intention of transforming the state. “They worked hard only to ensure that central schemes failed in UP,” he added.
Welfare and Inclusion
He emphasized that under his government, over 5.6 million homes have been built for the poor — including Dalits, backward castes, minorities, and other groups — without any caste-based discrimination.
ODOP – A Symbol of Pride and Self-Reliance
Highlighting his government’s efforts to revive the MSME sector, CM Yogi said the “One District One Product” (ODOP) scheme, launched in 2018, has given recognition to UP’s traditional industries. “ODOP has now become a national symbol of Swadeshi and pride. Earlier, Chinese products dominated markets during festivals. Today, ODOP items are gifted, artisans earn profits, and local crafts flourish,” he said.
Peace, Security, and Tourism Boom
“Every individual in UP now feels secure. Unlike earlier, festivals are now celebrated peacefully, irrespective of community. The state is riot-free and has a secure environment, attracting tourists from across the world,” the Chief Minister said. He added that while annual tourist footfall was only in lakhs before 2017, today it has surged to crores. Over 66 crore devotees visited during the Maha Kumbh, and this year, the number is projected to exceed 100 crore.
From Dream to Reality – UP as an Investment Hub
Referring to UP’s transformation as an investment destination, he said, “Before 2017, holding an investors’ summit was a distant dream. We made it a reality. In our first summit, we received proposals worth ₹4.67 lakh crore, and by 2023, that figure had grown to ₹40 lakh crore. UP is now among the top destinations for investors.”
CM Yogi concluded that although the potential always existed, earlier governments had narrow, casteist, and family-centric agendas. “Their vision was limited. They couldn’t look beyond their own families. Today, any city in UP shows a clear before-and-after picture — the transformation is visible to all.”
