VHP Concludes National Meet in Jalgaon with Call for Temple Freedom Movement

Jalgaon : The two-day central management committee meeting of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), held in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, concluded with the announcement of a nationwide Temple Freedom Movement and a strong call for unity against divisive forces targeting Hindu society. VHP International President and senior advocate Alok Kumar declared that temples must be freed from government control, adding, “The Hindu society is resolute—our temples will no longer remain under state dominance.” A resolution was passed opposing attempts to divide Hindus based on caste, language, region, and gender. It called for unity among saints, social organizations, and the larger Hindu community to resist such fragmentation.

Alok Kumar further criticized ideological narratives such as PDA, MIM-Bheem, Aryan-Dravidian, and ORP, claiming they aim to weaken Hindu solidarity. “Hindus are all brothers. There is no high or low among us,” he asserted. A key resolution titled “Only an Organized and Empowered Hindu Society Can Counter Divisive Agendas” blamed expansionist church forces, radical Islamists, Marxists, and market-driven secularists for such threats. The VHP urged governments to include moral education in school curricula.

As part of the Temple Freedom Movement, VHP plans to submit memoranda to state Chief Ministers between September 7–21 and mobilize public support through intellectual gatherings and legislative outreach.  The meeting, held at Balani Resort, was attended by VHP General Secretary Bajrang Lal Bagda, Joint Secretary Vinayakrao Deshpande, senior leader Champat Rai, and representatives from affiliated wings like Bajrang Dal, Durga Vahini, and others. Over 265 delegates from across India and Nepal participated.
