Vivek Agnihotri’s New Film ‘The Bengal Files’ to Reveal Another Painful Truth
Mumbai : Renowned filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is once again bringing a hard-hitting and emotional story to the big screen with his upcoming film, “The Bengal Files: Right to Life.” Initially titled “The Delhi Files,” the film’s name change has sparked widespread curiosity and renewed public interest. Following the critical and commercial success of his earlier films, “The Tashkent Files” and “The Kashmir Files,” Agnihotri continues his exploration of controversial and lesser-known chapters of Indian history. The teaser of the film presents powerful visuals and emotional depth, showing veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty in a weary look, reciting the Preamble to the Constitution with a burnt tongue — a symbolic portrayal of silenced voices. Also starring Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar, the film is produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi. It is the third installment of Agnihotri’s “Files Trilogy” and will release in theatres on September 5, 2025.
