Voting in Bihar 2025: Second and Final Phase, 122 Assembly Seats Polling Today

Patna : Polling for the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 is underway across 122 constituencies out of the state’s 243 seats. Prominent leaders including former Deputy Chief Ministers Renu Devi and Tarkishore Prasad, and Congress leader Ajit Sharma, are among the key candidates contesting in this phase.
State Minister Ashok Choudhary urged voters to come out in large numbers in support of the NDA, saying, “I appeal to the people to vote in greater numbers for us and strengthen Bihar’s development. In the first phase, we left the INDI alliance far behind, and our position will be even stronger in this round.”
Minister Shravan Kumar also appealed to the public, saying, “I urge voters to assess the situation before and after 2005 and make the right choice. Vote for the NDA to ensure a better future for your children.”
Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor encouraged people to surpass the record turnout from the first phase. “I appeal to the people of Bihar to break the voting record of the first phase. Vote for change, for better education and employment opportunities for your children. Let today’s turnout exceed the previous one,” he said.
Former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Katihar, Tarkishore Prasad, expressed confidence in the NDA’s performance. “Katihar is among the constituencies voting in this second phase. Since 2005, voters here have consistently given me the opportunity to serve. The double-engine government is driving development both at the state and national levels, and the effective implementation of central schemes in Katihar has left a positive impact on the people,” he said.
BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal cast his vote at a polling booth in Bettiah and urged citizens to ensure a record turnout. “I request everyone to ensure more than 75% voting in this phase. Your vote guarantees free food for the poor, free healthcare, free electricity, and ₹10,000 direct benefit to every woman’s account. Please come out and vote,” he said.
Voting is being held under tight security, with officials reporting steady voter turnout since the morning hours. The final phase will decide the fate of several key constituencies, setting the stage for the formation of the next Bihar government.
