New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing party workers in New Delhi on Friday, said that the NDA’s victory in the 2025 Bihar elections is the result of the people’s unwavering support for the government. Modi began his speech by thanking the people of Bihar for giving the NDA a historic mandate and said, “The people of Bihar have created history.” Taking a swipe at the Mahagathbandhan, he assured the state that the so-called “Katta Sarkar” will never return, and that Bihar will witness unprecedented development in the coming years.

Modi said, “We in the NDA are servants of the people. We work hard to win their hearts — and Bihar has once again shown its trust: NDA government, once again.” He emphasized that voters chose NDA for a “developed and prosperous Bihar.” He recalled appealing for record turnout and a decisive victory during the campaign, and said the people of Bihar fulfilled both appeals by breaking all previous voting records.

Modi said, “When I spoke about ‘Jungle Raj’ and ‘Katta Sarkar’, the RJD did not object — but Congress was uncomfortable. Today I repeat: the ‘Katta Sarkar’ will never return to Bihar.”

Highlighting the magnitude of the mandate, the Prime Minister said Bihar has given the NDA its biggest victory since 2010. He expressed gratitude to the people on behalf of the entire NDA alliance.

Modi also said that some parties tried to rely on a communal MY formula, but today’s victory has created a new positive MY formula — Mahila (women) and Youth. Bihar, he said, is among the states with the highest youth population across castes and religions, and their aspirations have defeated the politics of fear and Jungle Raj.

Praising the NDA’s performance, Modi also targeted West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress, declaring that just as the Ganga flows from Bihar into Bengal, NDA’s victory in Bihar will pave the way for BJP’s victory in West Bengal. He said, “I assure the people of Bengal — with your support, BJP will end Jungle Raj in Bengal as well.”

With West Bengal elections scheduled for 2026, Modi’s comments sparked sharp political reactions. BJP leaders amplified the message online, declaring “Next — West Bengal.” Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari echoed the sentiment, tweeting, “Bihar is just the beginning; Bengal is next.”

The Trinamool Congress, however, dismissed these claims. From its official account, TMC responded with short posts like “Keep dreaming” and “Come, try.” TMC leaders said Modi’s understanding of Bengal’s political ground was “deeply flawed” and asserted that Mamata Banerjee would return to power with more than 250 seats.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said Bengal rejects the BJP’s divisive politics and remains one of the safest states in the country. He cited high crime levels in BJP-ruled states and asked Modi to “look at those states first.”

Meanwhile, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee said Mamata Banerjee should lead the INDIA bloc at the national level, calling her the strongest challenger to the BJP’s ideology.

Modi praised the Election Commission for ensuring peaceful elections in Bihar and contrasted this with the widespread violence during elections under RJD’s earlier rule. He said the NDA is now moving forward toward a “golden 25-year journey” for Bihar.

He thanked the women and youth of Bihar in particular, saying they had suffered the most under Jungle Raj and had now chosen the politics of development over the politics of dynastic rule and fear.

Modi concluded, “Bihar has ensured that Jungle Raj will never return to this sacred land.”
