10th International Yoga Day Celebrated in Tawang with Enthusiasm and Unity

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) : Today, the 10th International Yoga Day was observed with great enthusiasm at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium in Tawang headquarters. The yoga session, jointly organized by the District Administration, Indian Army, and District Ayush Society, saw the participation of prominent figures and a diverse group of participants including Army personnel, students, monks, and the general public.
Among the distinguished attendees were MLA of Tawang, Namgey Tsering, I/C Deputy Commissioner Sang Khandu, Brigade Commander Brigadier VS Rajput, and SP Tawang DW Thongon. They joined the event to promote health and holistic development through yoga, emphasizing the theme “Yoga for self and Society.”

MLA Namgey Tsering, in his address, extended his best wishes for International Yoga Day and emphasized the importance of good health for achieving developmental goals in the constituency. He called for cooperation from all sectors to support these initiatives.
The yoga session was led by trained yoga instructor Kesang Lhamu and Brigade Commander Brigadier VS Rajput, underlining the inclusive nature of the event that brought together various community members in the spirit of wellness and unity.
To mark this special occasion, a unique celebration took place at the MON-PALPUNG JANGCHUB CHOEKHORLING MONASTERY, Jang. The event featured yoga asanas, meditation, and cultural performances, showcasing the transformative power of yoga to foster peace, discipline, and self-realization.
“This initiative underscores the significance of physical and mental well-being, crucial in today’s fast-paced world,” remarked Khenpo Nyima Tashi, Head of the Monastery, highlighting the event’s broader impact.
In Lungla subdivision, MLA and Advisor to Minister Tsering Lhamu participated in a similar yoga session at Dolma Lhakhang, further demonstrating the widespread participation and enthusiasm for yoga across the region.
The celebration of the 10th International Yoga Day in Tawang was a testament to the community’s unity and commitment to holistic health and well-being, resonating with the global message of yoga’s profound benefits.
