250 Naga Sannyasis Perform Pind Daan in Mahanirvani, Commit to Promoting Akhada and Sanatan Dharma
Mahakumbh Nagar (UP): In a significant spiritual event at Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani, 250 Naga Sannyasis performed Pind Daan, renouncing worldly attachments and dedicating themselves to the service of Sanatan Dharma and the Akhada. The initiation rites for all Naga Sannyasis were conducted in accordance with Akhada traditions.
On Saturday, these individuals took a lifelong pledge to serve society under the Akhada by renouncing material desires. Their spiritual journey began on Friday with a ceremonial head-shaving ritual, followed by 108 dips in the sacred Ganges River on Saturday. They also worshipped the Dharma Dhwaja (religious flag) as part of their initiation into the ascetic life.
A Vijaya Havan (sacred fire ceremony) was conducted for all the Naga Sannyasis, marking their vow to serve the Akhada and Sanatan Dharma for life. Shri Mahant Yamunapuri, the secretary of the Akhada, announced that the Naga Sannyasis would receive initiation before the Amrit Snan (sacred bath). During the Amrit Snan, the Naga Sannyasis will bathe first, followed by other saints of the Akhada.
The Naga Sannyasis are not only dedicated to spreading the teachings of Sanatan Dharma but also serve as its protectors for life. Their commitment symbolizes unwavering devotion to preserving and propagating the traditions of the Akhada and the essence of Sanatan Dharma.
