‘I Am Not Someone Who Gets Intimidated; I Will Keep Exposing the Delhi Government on Public Issues’: Sanjeev Jha

New Delhi: Residents in several parts of Delhi continue to suffer due to rising pollution levels, and Burari is among the worst-affected areas. Burari MLA and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjeev Jha has been in the spotlight on social media for the past several days, raising concerns and demanding solutions to the pollution crisis.

Jha has publicly questioned the Delhi Government and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on multiple issues related to public welfare. He alleged that in the last couple of days, some local BJP leaders have been spreading rumors against him and even attempting to intimidate his landlord. “I am not someone who gets scared. I am someone who fights,” he asserted. “I will continue to speak the truth and present it before the public. Whatever is true, I will take it to the people’s court.”

He further maintained that under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, Burari witnessed unprecedented development over the past decade.

Responding to a question about his major contributions to the constituency, Jha shared several achievements:

Construction of more than 17,000 lanes

Installation of 1,700 km of water pipelines

Laying of sewer lines in 89 colonies and 7 villages

Establishment of an 800-bed modern hospital in Kaushik, Burari

Construction of over 487 classrooms

He added that when he became MLA for the first time, Burari had only one Chhath Ghat listed in official records; today, 34 Chhath Ghats have been built and now receive full government support. Other major infrastructure projects—such as power grids, transformers, and a bus depot—were also completed during this period.

Attacking the current Delhi Government, Jha alleged that development work has come to a standstill since the BJP came to power. “Tenders are not being issued, the sanitation system is collapsing, and several government hospitals are facing severe shortages of medicines,” he claimed. “Patients are not being heard, and the Yamuna is once again grappling with pollution.”

Jha said BJP leaders feel uncomfortable when he raises these issues. Issuing a warning, he declared, “I will expose one irregularity every day. I will continue fighting for people’s rights. The more you try to intimidate me, the stronger my questions will become.”
