Khan Sir Surrenders in Firing Case; FIR Filed for Attempt to Murder After Guards Allegedly Opened Fire on Faisal Khan’s Instructions

Patna: Well-known Bihar educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, surrendered before the Patna Civil Court on Saturday amid mounting legal troubles in connection with a firing incident outside his coaching institute. Accompanied by his lawyer, Khan Sir appeared before the court after Bihar Police intensified efforts to arrest him following the registration of an FIR.

The case against Khan Sir includes serious charges under sections related to attempted murder and the Arms Act. According to media reports, the controversy stems from a violent clash and subsequent firing incident that took place outside the Khan Global Studies (KGS) center in Musallahpur Hat, Patna.

Patna Police registered an FIR against Khan Sir on June 5, naming him as an accused. Authorities allege that on the night of June 2, a violent confrontation erupted outside the KGS coaching center when a group of nearly 20 individuals allegedly attacked the premises, vandalized property, and engaged in stone-pelting. During the incident, a security guard was reportedly assaulted and later hospitalized.

Following the attack, Khan Sir alleged that individuals associated with rival coaching institute Gyan Bindu Academy were behind the violence. Acting on complaints and preliminary investigations, police arrested three individuals, including Gyan Bindu Academy director Roshan Anand.

However, the case took a dramatic turn the following day when a video surfaced on social media showing two private security guards employed by Khan Sir—identified as Pradeep and Taleshwar—allegedly firing shots into the air. After verifying the authenticity of the footage, police arrested both guards on June 4.

According to police sources, during interrogation the guards reportedly claimed that they had opened fire on Khan Sir’s instructions. Based on these statements and the evidence collected during the investigation, police subsequently registered an FIR against Khan Sir under charges of attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act.

Although no injuries were reported as a result of the firing, authorities stated that the use of firearms in a public area and the circumstances surrounding the incident warranted serious criminal charges.

The Patna Police have appealed to students and the public not to be influenced by rivalries among coaching institutes and to maintain peace. Investigators said the case remains under active investigation, and further legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the findings of the inquiry.

The surrender of Khan Sir marks a significant development in a case that has attracted widespread public attention across Bihar and beyond, given his popularity among competitive exam aspirants and his large online following.
