BJP Eyes Organisational Reboot, New Model with 60 National Office-Bearers Under Consideration
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reportedly preparing for a major overhaul of its organisational structure as the party looks to modernise its functioning and improve administrative efficiency. According to sources, the leadership is deliberating on a series of structural reforms aimed at making the organisation more effective, accountable, and responsive in view of the party’s rapid expansion across the country.
Over the past few years, the BJP’s organisational reach and support base have grown significantly. However, the party’s internal structure has not expanded at the same pace, resulting in increased responsibilities and workload for the central leadership. To address this challenge, the party is considering a comprehensive organisational restructuring.
Sources indicate that the number of BJP’s national office-bearers, currently around 45, may be increased to 60. The proposal is aimed at ensuring a better distribution of responsibilities across various departments, cells, and states, thereby improving coordination and organisational efficiency.
The party is also said to be examining a new organisational model inspired by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) ‘Kshetra Pracharak’ system. Under the proposed framework, major geographical regions of the country could be placed under the direct supervision of the party’s top leadership. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President Nitin Nabin may be entrusted with overseeing different regions to strengthen organisational monitoring and strategic coordination.
In addition, the BJP’s highest policy-making body is also expected to undergo changes. Several vacant positions may be filled, while new leaders could be inducted in line with evolving political and organisational requirements. The move is expected to bring a balance between experienced leadership and emerging faces within the party.
Political observers believe that if these proposals are approved, they could mark one of the most significant organisational reforms in the BJP in recent years. The restructuring is expected to create a more decentralised, accountable, and performance-oriented organisational framework.
However, the BJP has not yet made any official announcement regarding these proposed changes. Party leaders are expected to take a final decision and make the details public at an appropriate time.
