CBI’s Major Crackdown on Organized Cybercrime, 26 Arrested

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested 26 individuals connected to an organized cybercrime network. According to CBI, these arrests were made following raids at 32 different locations in Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Visakhapatnam last Thursday.

CBI revealed that during the searches, significant digital evidence and incriminating materials were recovered. Based on inputs regarding this organized cybercrime network, the International Operations Division had registered a case under the Information Technology Act.

During the raids, CBI teams intercepted 170 individuals involved in ongoing online criminal activities across four illegal call centers:

V.C. Infometrix Pvt. Ltd., Regent Plaza, Pune
V.C. Infometrix Pvt. Ltd., Murli Nagar, Visakhapatnam
Viajex Solutions, Hyderabad
Atriya Global Services Pvt. Ltd., Visakhapatnam
Out of the 170 individuals detained, 26 have been arrested, while investigations into the role of other workers at these illegal call centers are ongoing.

In a statement, CBI said that 951 items, including electronic devices, mobile phones, laptops, financial records, communication data, and other incriminating materials used by this cybercrime network, have been seized. Additionally, Rs 58.45 lakh in cash, locker keys, and three luxury vehicles were also recovered.
