Indian Railways Operates 185 Special Trains for Chhath Festival Travelers
New Delhi : In response to the high demand for travel during Chhath, Indian Railways is running 185 special trains today to facilitate passenger movement. Given the large crowds, special arrangements have been made at major stations to ensure smooth operations. This year, Indian Railways is operating around 7,500 special trains for the festive season, a significant increase from the 4,500 trains operated last year. On November 3, more than 188 special trains were in service.

To ensure passenger comfort and timely departures, Indian Railways has set up special control rooms at various levels including the Railway Board, zonal, divisional, and station levels. Additional staff and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have been deployed to manage crowds and maintain order. Additionally, reserve rakes are stationed at critical points to be deployed immediately if overcrowding occurs.
