AAP is merely fulfilling the formality of releasing a manifesto by repeating old promises: Vijender Gupta

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly and BJP candidate from Rohini, Vijender Gupta, called the manifesto released by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal a “recycled slogan.”

Gupta stated that AAP has no vision for the development of Delhi and is simply repeating its old election promises in this manifesto as a mere formality.

He added that the manifesto does not include any new announcements for opening schools or hospitals because the AAP government had already committed massive corruption in the name of schools and hospitals, which is why they have avoided any new promises in this manifesto.

Gupta further said that AAP has made no new promises. He reminded that Kejriwal had previously stated that if he failed to clean the Yamuna, the public should not vote for him in the 2025 elections. However, Kejriwal has now forgotten his own promise and is repeating the same old promise to clean the Yamuna in this manifesto. Gupta also pointed out that AAP’s promises of free electricity and water have already been proven false, as poor people in slums are still receiving electricity bills in the thousands, and water is available only twice a week in these areas despite the claims of free water.

Referring to the BJP’s election manifesto, Gupta highlighted that BJP has made announcements that consider all sections of society. He mentioned that the ‘Mahila Samriddhi Yojana,’ under which women will receive ₹2,500 per month as ‘honorarium,’ demonstrates the BJP’s commitment to empowering women. Additionally, BJP has promised a ₹500 subsidy on gas cylinders for poor women, ₹21,000 for pregnant women, and free cylinders for women during Holi and Diwali. Gupta also mentioned that the pension for senior citizens aged 60-70 years will be increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500, and the financial assistance for elderly, widows, and differently-abled citizens above 70 will be raised from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000. For slum dwellers, BJP has promised to establish ‘Atal Canteens’ in every slum to provide meals for just ₹5, reflecting the party’s compassion towards the poor, laborers, and working-class citizens.

Gupta emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivers on his promises, stating that BJP doesn’t believe in election slogans but in fulfilling its commitments.

He concluded by saying that the people of Delhi have now understood the truth about Kejriwal and his party and will not be fooled anymore. He once again appealed to the people of Delhi, saying, “Enough is enough, we will not tolerate this anymore; change is coming.”
