Khatushyamji Temple to Remain Closed for Devotees from February 27 Due to Special Worship and Tilak Ceremony

Jaipur (Rajasthan): The world-famous Khatushyamji temple will remain closed for devotees due to special worship and the Tilak ceremony. The Shri Shyam Temple Committee has issued an official notification regarding this.

Committee minister Manvendra Singh Chauhan informed that due to the special service, worship, and Tilak of Shri Shyam Prabhu on February 28, temple darshan will remain closed from 10 PM on February 27 to 5 PM on February 28. This year, the grand Falgun fair of Baba Shyam will begin on February 28 and continue until March 11.

Preparations for the fair are in full swing. Special arrangements have been made this year for devotees’ darshan, vehicle parking, and other facilities.

The Khatushyamji-Ringas road has been declared a no-vehicle zone. A carpet will be laid from Ringas to Khatu to facilitate barefoot devotees.

Devotees will reach Baba’s shrine through an eight-lane zigzag path. To protect them from the heat, a sprinkler system has been installed. Similar to last year, devotees will pass through 14 lines to reach the temple. After reaching Khatu Dham, they will have to cover an 8-kilometer journey to get darshan of Baba.

Devotees coming via Ringas Road will have to enter through the main gate near the municipal office and proceed to Charan Maidan, where a temporary tin-shed-covered zigzag path has been set up. From there, they will reach Lakhdataar Maidan.

Devotees arriving via Danta Road will enter through a zigzag path near Lala Mangiram Dharamshala and proceed to Lakhdataar Mela Ground. From there, they will enter the 75-foot-wide main mela ground through 14 straight lines.

The journey from Ringas Road to Baba’s shrine will take approximately five hours. If there is less crowd, devotees will be allowed darshan through four lines instead of 14.

Mela in-charge and SDM Monika Samor stated that during the fair, the VIP darshan facility will be completely restricted except for government protocol VIPs. Separate arrangements have been made for differently-abled individuals and senior citizens.

A special queue has been set up near Lala Mangiram Dharamshala, about 250 meters from the temple. Differently-abled devotees will be taken to the temple for darshan via wheelchairs through this dedicated route.

Previously, devotees coming from Danta Road used to reach the 40-feet new pathway directly, leading to congestion. This year, the administration has created a new route. Now, devotees from Danta Road will also pass through a zigzag path via Lakhdataar Mela Ground before reaching the temple.

The route to the temple will be one-way for devotees.
