Unbelievable! Horse Caught Smuggling Liquor in Bihar, Taken to Police Station — Shocking Case Unfolds
Betiah (Bihar) : Despite a complete ban on alcohol in Bihar, smugglers continue to find innovative ways to transport liquor across the state. One such bizarre case has emerged from West Champaran district, where police caught a horse carrying 50 liters of foreign liquor.
In a surprising twist, police in West Champaran intercepted a horse being used for liquor smuggling. Upon receiving a tip-off, the police launched an operation. Although the smuggler managed to flee the scene, officers successfully seized the illicit liquor and the horse, which is now in police custody. Authorities have launched a search for the absconding smuggler.
The operation was carried out by Bettiah police after they were informed that smugglers from Uttar Pradesh were transporting liquor to Nautan’s Baira Parsouni village. Acting swiftly, Station Head Rajesh Kumar formed a team led by Sub-Inspector Mohammad Aslam, which reached the village and laid in wait. However, the vigilant smugglers spotted the police from a distance and fled, leaving behind the horse and the liquor consignment.
50 Liters of Liquor Seized with the Horse
The police recovered 50 liters of foreign liquor loaded onto the horse. Interestingly, this is not the first such case in the area — in March, Nautan police also seized 34 liters of liquor from a horse in Shivrajpur, though the smuggler had escaped that time as well.
Bihar has enforced a strict prohibition law, and the police regularly conduct crackdowns on the sale and transportation of alcohol. While earlier smugglers relied on bikes and cars, they now seem to have shifted to using animals like horses to avoid detection.
Police Feeding and Caring for the Horse
The seized horse is currently being kept at the police station, under the care of the local police, who are also arranging its fodder and water. Meanwhile, the Nautan police are continuing their investigation and trying to track down the accused smuggler.
This case is yet another example of how determined smugglers are getting increasingly creative — and how vigilant the Bihar Police must remain in enforcing prohibition laws.
