Consensus Reached on Seat-Sharing in Bihar NDA; Candidate Announcements to Begin Today

Patna (Bihar): The long-standing tussle over seat-sharing within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections has finally come to an end. A crucial meeting held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah finalized the seat-sharing formula. Top leaders from the BJP, JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha attended the meeting.

Following the meeting, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde shared the details on social media, confirming that consensus on seat distribution had been reached within the NDA. As per the agreed formula —
➡ BJP will contest 101 seats,
➡ JD(U) will contest 101 seats,
➡ LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest 29 seats,
➡ HAM will contest 6 seats, and
➡ Rashtriya Lok Morcha (Upendra Kushwaha)** will contest 6 seats**.

Tawde described the agreement as a symbol of NDA’s unity and its commitment to Bihar’s development, calling it a “strong alliance for a stronger Bihar.”

After the meeting, NDA leaders said the alliance is now fully prepared to enter the electoral battle with complete unity. The NDA in Bihar has officially switched into full election mode.

Following the Delhi meeting, NDA leaders showcased their unity in Patna. After finalizing the seat-sharing deal, top leaders from BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha returned to Patna.

Speaking to the media at the airport, BJP state president Samrat Choudhary said, “The NDA is completely united. Seat-sharing has been finalized, and the list of candidates will be announced by late evening.”

Responding to questions about the alleged displeasure of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha, Choudhary stated, “There is no resentment among any partners. We are all united and moving forward with the shared goal of Bihar’s development.”

However, JD(U) leaders Sanjay Jha and Union Minister Lalan Singh, who returned from Delhi, avoided media interactions and refrained from commenting.

All eyes in Bihar are now on the NDA’s candidate list, which is expected to set the tone for the upcoming electoral battle and add fresh momentum to the state’s political landscape.
