Kanhaiya Kumar Says — Time to Decide for Your Rights, Bihar’s 20-Year-Old Government Has Started to Rot

Katihar (Bihar): Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar visited Baliyabelon in Kadwa Assembly constituency on Wednesday, where he addressed an election rally in support of Congress candidate Shakeel Ahmad Khan.
Addressing the gathering, Kanhaiya Kumar said, “Forming the government is in your hands. Corruption here is happening behind closed doors — sometimes in the name of SIR, sometimes under other excuses. You still have a chance to use your rights wisely.”
Highlighting the Congress party’s historical contributions, he added, “Congress played a key role in India’s freedom struggle, gave the right to reservation, ensured equal rights for all, and upheld equality among people of all religions. Such a system was established only by the Congress.”
Appealing to the public, he said, “Everyone thinks about their children — a leader’s son wants to become a leader, a doctor’s son wants to become a doctor — so you too must think about the future of your children. People are struggling to survive, prices are rising, and lakhs are migrating for work and healthcare. It’s time for the people of Bihar to think for themselves. This government, which has been in power for 20 years, has now started to rot — it must be replaced.”
Speaking on the land survey issue, he said, “They keep saying that land surveys are being conducted. But this isn’t a real survey — it’s a way to identify land and hand it over to their friends.”
Reacting to the Waqf Bill, Kanhaiya Kumar said, “Tejashwi Ji will do what he has said. The Congress party has opposed the Waqf Bill. Dr. Javed Sahib was a member of that committee. Congress has opposed this bill both inside and outside Parliament because the government is trying to snatch away people’s rights.”
Responding to the NDA’s manifesto release, he remarked, “They should first tell the people what they have done in the last 20 years. Let them continue the work they claim to have done before making new promises.”
