CM Yogi Prioritizes North-South Corridor, Says – Project Will Strengthen the State’s Economic Backbone

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): To elevate Uttar Pradesh’s geographical and economic connectivity to new heights, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has laid special emphasis on the development of the North-South Corridor. In a high-level review meeting held late Tuesday evening at the Chief Minister’s residence, CM Yogi directed officials to present a detailed and practical action plan for the corridor at the earliest.

CM Yogi stated that both the East-West and North-South Corridors will serve as the backbone of the state’s economy. Under this initiative, the construction of national highways and greenfield roads will be prioritized in collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He also instructed that local and high-quality materials must be mandatorily used in construction works to promote the state’s industries.

Taking a firm stance on road safety, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for a comprehensive strategy through coordination between the PWD, Transport Department, and Police Department. He also stressed the effective utilization of panchayat funds to connect rural areas with major roads.

CM Yogi expressed confidence that this ambitious project will pave the way for improved logistics, increased investments, and new employment opportunities in the state, thereby accelerating the pace of development in Uttar Pradesh.
