Contaminated Diesel Halts CM’s Convoy in Madhya Pradesh; 19 Vehicles Break Down, Petrol Pump Sealed
Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): A major security lapse occurred in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday when 19 vehicles in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s convoy broke down after being filled with diesel allegedly mixed with water. The incident took place at a fuel station in Ratlam, where the CM was scheduled to attend a program on Friday.
According to reports, the convoy was en route from Indore to Ratlam when it stopped at a local petrol pump to refuel. Shortly after refuelling, several vehicles developed mechanical issues and stalled just a kilometer away, causing chaos. Some vehicles reportedly broke down on the spot. Viral videos show drivers and petrol pump staff pushing SUVs to move them off the road.
Diesel Contaminated with Water Confirmed
The Food and Civil Supplies Department promptly collected fuel samples from the site. Lab tests confirmed the presence of water in the diesel, leading to the immediate sealing of the petrol pump by district authorities.
Alternate Convoy Arranged from Indore
To avoid disruption in the Chief Minister’s schedule, authorities arranged for an alternate convoy from Indore. A driver from the convoy said, “After refuelling, some vehicles barely moved a kilometer before stalling, while others failed right at the pump.”
Panic in Administration
The incident has triggered serious questions about the security and operational integrity of VVIP movements. The fact that such a grave lapse occurred in the CM’s convoy has sent shockwaves through the administrative setup. A detailed investigation has been ordered, and strict action against those responsible is expected.
This alarming episode has highlighted not only concerns regarding fuel quality in the state but also the vulnerability of high-profile security protocols, prompting a reassessment of standard operating procedures for VVIP travel.
