Delhi: Questions Raised on Mahila Samman and Sanjeevani Schemes, Department Denies Existence

New Delhi: In a significant development, the Delhi Health Department has raised concerns over the purported Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana. On Tuesday, the department issued an advertisement stating that no such schemes exist, and that misleading registrations are being carried out. Citizens have been warned against sharing personal information.

The Women and Child Development Department of the Delhi government clarified in a public notice that reports have surfaced claiming women in Delhi would receive ₹2,100 per month under the Chief Minister Mahila Samman Yojana. The notice categorically stated that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi government and that its existence is false. The department warned that accepting forms or applications under this scheme constitutes fraud. Citizens were advised not to share sensitive details such as bank account information, voter ID, phone numbers, residential addresses, or other personal information, as it could lead to crimes such as cyber fraud or banking scams.

Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party had earlier announced the Sanjeevani Scheme for senior citizens, promising free healthcare for individuals aged 60 and above in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, while unveiling the scheme, had claimed it was a transformative initiative for Delhiites. Similarly, Kejriwal had announced the Mahila Samman Yojana, under which eligible women were promised a monthly transfer of ₹1,000, later revised to ₹2,100. Kejriwal asserted that if the AAP government is re-elected, this amount would be increased to ₹2,100.

The latest clarification from the health and women’s development departments raises questions about the existence and implementation of these schemes, which were key promises made during the election campaigns.
