Delhi University Students’ Union Election Results to Be Announced on November 25

New Delhi: The much-awaited results of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections will finally be declared on November 25, nearly two months after the voting took place. The counting of votes for college representatives is scheduled for November 24.

DUSU Election 2024-25 Chief Election Officer, Professor Satyapal Singh, announced on Wednesday that the Delhi High Court had directed the university to complete the counting by November 26, provided that all campaign posters and banners are removed from public spaces.

Professor Singh noted that a survey revealed that posters and banners in some areas had yet to be fully removed. Hence, the university has decided to undertake the cleaning process itself. Considering these developments, the vote counting for DUSU elections will take place on November 25, starting at 8 AM in the North Campus Conference Center, opposite the Botany Department.

College-Level Vote Counting on November 24
All colleges, departments, institutes, and centers have been instructed to conduct their vote counting on November 24. Morning colleges and departments will start counting at 8 AM, while evening institutions will begin at 2 PM.

Delay Due to Court Directive
The elections, held on September 27, were expected to see results the following day. However, the Delhi High Court raised concerns about the widespread littering caused by campaign posters and banners, putting the counting process on hold until public spaces were thoroughly cleaned.

With the university stepping in to ensure compliance, the election process is finally set to conclude, bringing an end to the long delay in announcing the new student leadership.
