ED Raids Former Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj’s Residence in Hospital Construction Scam; AAP Cries Foul

New Delhi : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted raids at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj in connection with an alleged hospital construction scam. The searches were carried out at his Chirag Delhi home along with 12 other locations linked to the case.

According to sources, the probe was initiated on the basis of a complaint filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta. The ED team began its search operation early in the morning, which continued for several hours.

Reacting sharply to the ED’s action, AAP MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the case against Bhardwaj was “completely false and baseless.” He said,

“When this case was registered by the ED, Saurabh Bhardwaj was not even a minister. The Modi government’s only agenda is to trap AAP leaders in fabricated cases and send them to jail.”

Singh further claimed that the raids were carried out to divert public attention from the ongoing controversy regarding Prime Minister Modi’s degree.

“It has become the policy of the Modi government to misuse central agencies to exert pressure on opposition leaders,” he added.

The Aam Aadmi Party has termed the action as an act of political vendetta, while the ED has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
