Golden Era Begins in America, Says Trump in Joint Session of Congress

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump addressed a joint session of Congress on Wednesday (Indian time). In his first speech of his second term, President Trump celebrated his victory, declaring that the “Golden Era has now begun.” He also listed his major achievements, including renaming the U.S. Gulf, taking a stand against transgender ideology, tightening immigration policies, and ending diversity initiatives in government.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump stated, “America’s Golden Era has just begun. This will be something never seen before.” His statement was met with standing ovations from Republicans, while some Democrats attempted to disrupt his speech. The Sergeant at Arms removed Representative Al Green (D-Texas) from the chamber, and several Democratic lawmakers walked out before Trump even began speaking.

Trump called on Congress to repeal Biden-era laws. He praised his administration’s immigration policies and urged Congress to pass legislation permanently banning and criminalizing gender-related surgeries for children.

He also revealed that an Afghan involved in planning the deadly 2021 suicide bombing at Kabul airport is being brought to the U.S. Trump stated that a senior member of the Islamic State branch in Afghanistan was handed over to U.S. officials by Pakistan. U.S. authorities have identified him as Mohammad Sharifullah.

Trump announced that two days ago, he signed an executive order making English the official language of the United States. He asserted that America trusts him, calling Biden “the worst president in history.” He claimed that illegal crossings surged under Biden’s leadership, whereas his administration accomplished in just 43 days what previous governments failed to do in four years.

He also highlighted rising inflation, particularly skyrocketing egg prices, and promised to eliminate inflation in the U.S. His top priority, he stated, is rescuing the nation’s economy and providing relief to working families.

Standing in the House Chamber for the first time in five years, Trump declared, “Tonight, I return to this chamber to report that America’s momentum is back, our spirit is back, our pride is back, and our confidence is back.”
