Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0 – Guests from Tamil Nadu Admire Kashi’s Wood Art; High Demand for Ram Darbar
Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) : The Kashi Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi features stalls showcasing traditional art and attire from both North and South India. Guests from Tamil Nadu are showing great interest in Kashi’s woodwork. Art pieces depicting different aspects of Lord Ram’s life, along with those inspired by Tamil culture and Kashi, are in high demand. The model of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is also attracting many buyers.
Along with visitors from Tamil Nadu, traders and startup entrepreneurs have also arrived in Kashi. They are selling their products at the event. A special stall dedicated to Kashi’s wood art has been set up, displaying various forms of deities and designs of different temples. These have become popular among both the people of Kashi and the Tamil guests. From Ram Mandir replicas to tableaus and depictions of Lord Ram’s leelas, wooden statues are being crafted and sold.
Wood artist Om Prakash Sharma said that this art form has been a part of Kashi’s heritage for a long time. It was on the verge of disappearing, but this event has brought it into the limelight again. Many people are appreciating the craftsmanship. His shop alone has over 100 different types of wooden artworks. The highest demand is for pieces based on Lord Ram’s life, with many orders coming in. The art is gaining popularity once again.
