Kejriwal Has Become an ‘Apology Expert’: BJP
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition by Delhi’s former Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, challenging a criminal defamation case filed by the registrar of Gujarat University. The case was related to Kejriwal’s comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s educational degree. Amid reports of Kejriwal offering an apology in the case, the BJP criticized him, dubbing him an “apology expert,” and advised him to change his behavior.
Senior BJP leader and former Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, addressed a press conference at the party headquarters on Tuesday, stating that Kejriwal has become an “apology expert.” He noted that the Supreme Court had rejected Kejriwal’s petition in a defamation case and claimed this wasn’t the first instance, as Kejriwal has apologized 10 times in various defamation cases. Prasad emphasized that while criticism and opposition are part of politics, making baseless allegations is wrong, and no one has the right to make false accusations.
Prasad further added that Kejriwal, who often claims to provide certificates of honesty and corruption, has now been exposed. He also pointed out that the people had already taught Kejriwal a lesson in the Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP leader remarked that Kejriwal has apologized to 10 different individuals, and this is on record. He likened him to Rahul Gandhi, stating that both leaders make irresponsible comments. Prasad concluded by expressing hope that Kejriwal will exercise more restraint in the future.
