Prashant Kishor’s Sharp Attack on Bihar Government During Assembly March: “Over 5 Million Children Are Working as Labourers, Government Remains Asleep”

Patna (Bihar) : Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor led a protest march towards the Bihar Assembly, launching a scathing attack on the state government. Speaking to the crowd, he said,

“More than 50 lakh (5 million) children in Bihar are working as labourers under the scorching sun, and the government is doing nothing. If we want to wake the government up, we must take to the streets.”

The march witnessed a massive turnout of supporters, who raised slogans against the government on issues such as child labour, poor education standards, and rising unemployment in the state.

Police Response
In view of the protest, the Patna Police imposed strict security measures. Patna SP Diksha reacted to the march stating,

“They (Prashant Kishor and his team) are not allowed to proceed further. This is a restricted zone, and no permission has been granted to go there.”

She added that talks are ongoing with the protestors and that if they are willing to send a delegation to present their demands, the administration is ready to hear them. However, any violation of the law will result in strict legal action.

Public Stand by Prashant Kishor
Prashant Kishor reaffirmed that he will not back down from the public movement until there are serious efforts made in Bihar towards education, healthcare, and employment. He made it clear that this was a battle of

“People vs. the System,” and that the fight will continue until meaningful change is achieved. This march, led by Prashant Kishor, is being seen as a sign of a new political movement focused on development and social reform in Bihar. It remains to be seen whether the administration listens to this voice or whether the protest gains further momentum.
