New Delhi: Residents of the national capital, Delhi, and neighboring cities experienced drizzle this morning. Several parts of Delhi witnessed heavy rain accompanied by cool winds, intensifying the cold wave effect. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, hailstorms, and moderate rainfall over northwest and central India today and tomorrow.

According to IMD, the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 13°C at 7:23 AM today. The chilly winds sweeping across the city have made the weather even colder. Over the next two days, fluctuations in temperature and dense fog are expected. The maximum temperature for today is likely to be around 20°C, while the minimum is expected to hover near 12°C. The city skies are predicted to remain cloudy for the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, in Noida, the minimum temperature is forecasted at 14°C and the maximum at 24°C. Light drizzle was reported in parts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Ghaziabad early this morning.

Department officials also stated that hailstorms could occur in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh today. On December 27 and 28, heavy snowfall in the western Himalayan region is likely to bring a 2–3°C drop in temperatures across northern states.
