Six Militants Arrested in Manipur, Weapons and Drugs Seized

Imphal (Manipur): Security forces and police in Manipur have arrested six militants and smugglers in separate operations, recovering a large cache of weapons and narcotics.

According to the police, a joint operation in Heirok Part-III, Uyokching, Thoubal district, led to the arrest of an active cadre of KCP (PWG), identified as Lashram Boinao alias Boi alias Langam (36), near Krishnadas Farmhouse. A .303 LMG, a magazine, live cartridges, a hand grenade, a radio set, a bulletproof jacket, camouflage clothing, a stamp pad, and a mobile phone were recovered from him.

In another operation, the police arrested Theo David Chothe (21) and Yulung Jefferson Chothe (23) near the Winger Parking area in North AOC, Imphal West district. A total of 47.6 kg of cannabis was seized from their possession.

Additionally, in Moreh police station limits of Tengnoupal district, a Myanmar national from Tamu, identified as Heri (32), was apprehended near New Shijang village while traveling on a motorcycle from Haolenphai. Around 4.4 kg of WIY tablets, a mobile phone, and an MSF appointment card were recovered from him.

Moreover, the police arrested two active members of KCP (City Meitei), identified as Soibam Inaocha Singh (24) and Thongam Deepak Singh alias Inao (36), from Lamsang Bazaar, Imphal West district. They were allegedly involved in extortion activities in the Imphal region. The police recovered two mobile phones and a wallet containing ₹1,100 in cash from them.

Furthermore, in Langol Game Village Zone-III under Lamphel police station limits, the Manipur Police arrested a female active member of PREPAK (Pro), identified as Laihaorungbam (N) Laishram (O) Sanatombi Devi alias Ichal (45). She was involved in sending threat letters to doctors and shopkeepers. A mobile phone and a letter were recovered from her possession.
