The World Must Speak in One Voice to Eliminate All Dimensions of Terrorism: Lok Sabha Speaker

New Delhi : Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla has congratulated Mr. Milton Dick on his re-election as Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia. During a telephonic conversation with Mr. Dick, Shri Birla said, “On behalf of the Indian Parliament, I extend my congratulations on your re-election as Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives. I wish you all the best for your new term.”

On this occasion, Shri Birla thanked Australia for standing in solidarity with India following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He appreciated Australia’s continued support to India in the fight against terrorism. Emphasizing the global threat of terrorism, Shri Birla asserted that the world must speak in one voice to eliminate all dimensions of terrorism.

Shri Birla also recalled the warm friendship between Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Mr. Anthony Albanese, expressing confidence that India-Australia bilateral relations would deepen further during Mr. Albanese’s current term. He stated that India looks forward to welcoming Mr. Albanese later this year for the Quad Summit and a bilateral summit.

Shri Birla expressed hope that under Mr. Dick’s current term, parliamentary cooperation between India and Australia would reach new heights and that the ties between the two nations, including on multilateral platforms, would grow even stronger.
