Uttarakhand Roadways to Increase Bus Services on Delhi Route, Plans to Purchase 100 New BS-6 Buses
Dehradun (Utrakhand): After the disruption of roadways bus services in Delhi, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has ramped up its preparations. The corporation plans to increase the number of buses on the Delhi route, including extending services up to Mohan Nagar and Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. Anand Srivastava, Managing Director of Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, informed on Thursday that due to new regulations on BS-3 and BS-4 buses, their operation in Delhi has been halted. In response, the corporation has directed an increase in the number of buses on this route to ensure smooth services. Currently, the corporation operates around 300 buses on the Delhi route, including 181 CNG buses, 12 Volvo buses, and 103 new BS-6 buses.
Dr. Srivastava also mentioned that due to the rising demand from passengers, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation plans to extend its bus services to Mohan Nagar and Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh. Discussions with the Uttar Pradesh government are ongoing. Additionally, the corporation has submitted a proposal to the state government for the purchase of 100 new BS-6 model buses. Approval for this proposal is expected soon, after which these buses will be added to the Delhi route.
