Celebrating 25 Years of Trust: IFFCO-TOKIO Marks Its Silver Jubilee with Renewed Commitment to Customers

Gurugram : IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Limited (IFFCO-TOKIO GIC), one of India’s leading general insurers, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its foundation this year. Over the past quarter century, the company has remained committed to its mission of “Spreading Happiness” (Muskurate Raho) by offering tailored insurance solutions and maintaining one of the best claim settlement ratios in the country.

Founded in 2000 as a joint venture between the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Japan’s Tokio Marine Group, and licensed by IRDAI the same year, IFFCO-TOKIO has grown into a symbol of trust and accessibility in the Indian insurance landscape. From its humble beginnings, the company now serves over 86 lakh policies through a widespread network of more than 1,000 offices and 35,000 agents across India.

Aligned with IRDAI’s vision of “Insurance for All by 2047,” IFFCO-TOKIO has developed affordable insurance products targeting under-served and under-covered communities. The company has partnered with numerous cooperatives to distribute micro-insurance products covering package, health, and motor policies.

Reflecting on the company’s milestone journey, Managing Director & CEO Mr. Subrata Mondal said, “Our founding principle was to offer affordable insurance. Over time, our vision has expanded to resonate with the aspirations of a growing, robust economy. With a solid technological foundation built on trust, innovation, and resilience, we are now entering a transformative phase focused on becoming one of India’s most customer-centric, innovative, and socially responsible insurance companies.”

Mr. Mondal highlighted IFFCO-TOKIO’s inclusive growth model, emphasizing its expanding customer and employee base. The company actively promotes gender diversity by creating opportunities for women employees and agents. To strengthen financial inclusion at the grassroots level, the company has trained over 5,000 women agents, reinforcing community trust.

IFFCO-TOKIO also remains committed to social responsibility through its CSR initiatives, which focus on empowering rural youth—especially women—through education and skill development, enhancing healthcare in under-served regions, and promoting sustainable, environment-friendly practices.

The company’s excellence has been recognized through numerous awards over the years. In 2025, IFFCO-TOKIO received the Tokio Marine Group Award for outstanding achievement in transforming Motor Own Damage (OD) claims operations in Tokyo. It was also named India’s Top General Insurance Company 2025 by Entrepreneur Outlook Magazine. Additional accolades include:
