After Theatrical Success, Ek Deewane Ki Deewangi Creates a Buzz on Netflix; Harshvardhan–Sonam Pair Continues to Shine

New Delhi: After a successful run in cinemas, the romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewangi, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, is all set to make its digital debut. The film will begin streaming on Netflix from December 16, 2025. Viewers who missed watching the movie on the big screen during its Diwali weekend theatrical release can now enjoy it from the comfort of their homes.
Counted among the most anticipated films of the year, Ek Deewane Ki Deewangi received mixed responses from audiences and critics alike, but its box office performance remained strong. Despite its serious and intense subject matter, the film emerged as the 12th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, surprising several trade analysts. The positive word of mouth during its theatrical run further fueled excitement around its OTT release.
Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film explores the darker and more complex side of love, focusing on themes of obsession, possessiveness, heartbreak, and emotional trauma. The intense romantic drama struck a chord with audiences who prefer layered characters and emotionally charged storytelling, helping the film sustain steady footfall in theatres.
The film was released in cinemas on October 21 and is arriving on Netflix nearly two months later, on December 16. Notably, the digital release coincides with actor Harshvardhan Rane’s birthday, making it a special treat for his fans. However, official confirmation of the release date from Netflix is still awaited.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Ek Deewane Ki Deewangi earned ₹78.98 crore (net) in India and ₹110.27 crore worldwide. In a recent exclusive interaction with India TV, the film’s team spoke about its box office performance and also hinted at the possibility of a sequel, Part 2.
The film has been produced by Anshul Garg and Dinesh Jain under the banner of Desi Movies Factory. Its music features contributions from Kunal Verma, Kaushik–Guddu, Rajat Nagpal, Ankur R Pathak, Rahul Mishra, and DJ Chetas, while the background score has been composed by John Stewart Eduri.
Harshvardhan Rane plays the role of politician Vikramaditya Bhonsle, while Sonam Bajwa is seen as actress Ada Randhawa. The supporting cast includes Sachin Khedekar as Ganpatrao Bhonsle, Shaad Randhawa as Sanjay, Anant Narayan Mahadevan as Mr Randhawa, and Rajesh Khera as Raheja.
It will now be interesting to see whether Ek Deewane Ki Deewangi manages to leave the same lasting impact on OTT audiences as it did during its theatrical run.
